Monday, March 8, 2021

Town Board Monthly meeting @ 7:30 pm

 

          PRESENT:  Chairperson-Carl Mundth, Supervisor I-Ervin Borleske, Supervisor II-Paul Grosskrueger, Clerk-Rebecca Meyer, Treasurer-Linda Borleske,  

          ALSO, PRESENT:  Clark Thompson, Rebecca Klitzke,Terri Connors, Dennis Connors, Erin Mitchell, Kathy Schwartz, Leo Almedia, Larry Isaacson

 

  • Town Board Monthly Meeting Called to order at 7:30 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance
  • Clerk Meyer certified that the meeting met the criteria of open meetings law by being on the town website and on the door of the town hall.
  • Agenda was reviewed. Motion made by Supervisor Borleske, seconded by Supervisor Grosskrueger to adopt agenda.  Motion carried,
  • The Minutes were reviewed from the February meeting. Motion by Supervisor Grosskrueger, seconded by Supervisor Mundth to approve minutes with minor changes. Motion carried.
  • Anyone wishing to speak about a topic that is not on the agenda.  Paul Grosskrueger asked about if he sold his property would there be an issued to destroy the current house and rebuild.  Paul was directed to talk to the ET Committee because it is the ET.  A zoning permit would also have to be issued.
  • Leo Almedia introduced himself as a candidate for the school board.  Main stance is to get kids back to school 5 days a week starting immediately.  Another stance is the budget and his last stance is to close the achievement gap. 
  • Plan Commission Chairperson Linda Borleske gave an update on Plan Commission meeting.  There was a not Plan Commission meeting in February.  The next meeting would be March 29th if needed.  Received an email from Cassandra Fowler that there are some townships that need updated.  The Town of Reedsburg updated their plan in 2014 and will need updated again in 2024. Chapter 7 will have some changes regarding the zoning. Both Cassandra Fowler and Will Christensen would like to come and speak at the next Plan Commission meeting.
  • Preamble and Resolution for a $106,000 loan from Board of Commissioners of Public Lands for the new snow plow truck and equipment were read and loan paperwork signatures were acquired.  Supervisor Grosskrueger read the Preamble and Supervisor Borleske read the Resolution.  Motion by Supervisor Grosskrueger, seconded by Supervisor Borleske to approve the adoption of the foregoing preamble and resolutions as read.  Roll call vote taken; Chairperson Mundth – Yay, Supervisor Borleske – Yay, Supervisor Grosskrueger – Yay. Motion carried.
  • Assessor report by Clerk Meyer – Nothing to report other than we received quarterly invoice.
  • Highway report given by Clark Thompson.

v Road bans went on today, March 8

v Has approximately 150 yards of sand

v Picked up a 20’ section of 30” culvert tube cut in (4) 5’ section with (4) bands from the county highway shop and installed on Fish Pond Road. The Highway office staff went over and beyond to assist in getting these cut for the Town.

v Received a phone call about Garbage trucks are pulling over on property owners yards in the ditch to pick up trash causing ruts threw the mud and this is breaking the edge of the road.  Carl has been in contact with Peterson Sanitation about this matter.

v There was a stop sign knocked over at the intersection of Twin Pine Rd and Old Ironton Rd.

  • Building Inspector Report: Building permits issued by GEC – report given by Clerk Meyer

v No Permits were issued in February

  • Supervisors and Chairperson Reports:

v P. Grosskrueger - Supervisor II – Nothing at this time

v E. Borleske – Supervisor I – Turned in keys and Town Officers Handbook

v C. Mundth – Chairperson – Received an email and letter from the US Census Bureau for a survey to be filled out.  A huge thank you to Paul and Ervin for their service on the Town Board.  Also, thanked Linda for her service as the Town Treasurer.  Well wishes were granted for them all for a great retirement.

  • Clerk Meyer presented Monthly Bills to be paid. Motion made by Supervisor Grosskrueger, seconded by Supervisor Borleske to pay the bills as presented. Motion carried
  • Treasurer Report: Given by Treasurer Borleske

v Deposit - $128.00

v Town Board meetings: April 12, May10 & June 14 @7:30 pm

v Election Date – April 6, 2021 7am – 8pm

v Election Equipment Public Testing and Hall Set up – Tuesday March 30 @ 5:00pm and

v Plan Commission – March 29 if there is anything needed.

v Linda commented that it’s been a pleasure being the Treasurer for 10 years and Plan Commission for 17 years.   

  • Anything else reasonably related to the agenda. 
  • Motion by Supervisor Borleske, second by Supervisor Grosskrueger to adjourn the monthly Town Board Meeting at 8:25 pm.  Motion carried.
