Town Board Monthly meeting @ 7:00 pm

 

          PRESENT:  Chairperson-Carl Mundth, Supervisor I-Rebecca Klitzke, Supervisor II-Chad Allen, Clerk-Rebecca Meyer, Treasurer-Kathy Schwartz

         

1. Town Board Monthly Meeting Called to order at 7:00 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance
2. Clerk R. Meyer certified that the meeting met the criteria of open meetings law by being on the town website and on the door of the town hall.
3. Agenda reviewed. Motion by Allen/Klitzke to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.
4. The minutes were reviewed from the June meeting. Motion by Klitzke / Allen to approve the May minutes. Motion carried.
5. Anyone wishing to speak about a topic that is not on the agenda.  No one spoke.
6. Discussion on the contract with John Orton.  Motion by Allen / Klitzke to approve and sign the contract.  Motion carried. Motion by Allen / Klitzke to have a public hearing on August 8th to adopt a Resolution to terminate the current Agreement with the City of Reedsburg.  Motion carried.
7. Discussion on the process of moving to an Appointed Treasurer from an Elected Treasurer took place.  There is a write up in the July 2022 on the steps and process of how to do this. Motion by Mundth / Allen to proceed with a public hearing to move from an elected Treasurer to an appointed Treasurer on August 8^th.  Motion carried.
8. Prairie View Bridge update and discussion.  Motion by Klitzke / Allen to move forward with the bidding process for Fall Construction on the Prairie View Bridge project.  Motion carried.
9. Highway report by Clark Thompson given by Carl Mundth

v Round 2 of Mowing is complete

v Put up 3 Road name signs in the Copper Creek subdivision: Copper Creek Way, Gold Rush Ct., and Copper Ct.

v Replaced Golf Course Rd. Sign on CTH H.  This is a Town of Winfield sign.

10. Building Inspector Report: Building permits issued by GEC – report given by Clerk Meyer

v Gregory & Tammy Rockweiler @ E7263 E. Reedsburg Rd for a Deck / Pavilion

11. Supervisors and Chairperson Reports:

v C. Allen - Supervisor II – Nothing

v R. Klitzke – Supervisor I – Nothing

v C. Mundth – Chairperson – Firework permit at Dan Knuth’s house, Town hall rentals should be expressed to renters that nothing is to be hung from the ceiling. Talked with Pat Weber about the two lights over the voting booths and it has been decided that the lights are spread out enough that we don’t the additional lights.

12. Clerk R. Meyer presented Monthly Bills to be paid.  Motion by Klitzke / Allen to pay the bills as presented. Motion carried.

v Will register for the Election updates on Friday, August 26 for the Wisconsin Municipal Association.  The cost is $70.

13. Treasurer report given by K. Schwartz

v $310.82 Deposit – ($10 - Special Assessment letters, $33 – GEC – building permits,  $70.98 – Alliant refund, $196.84 – State of WI MPL)

14. Calendar Dates

v Plan Commission –July 25, Aug 22, Sept 26, Oct. 24 @7:00 pm

v Town Board meetings: August 8, Sept. 6, Oct. 10 & Nov 14 @ 7:00 pm

v Election Dates: August 9 and November 8

15. Reasonably related to agenda.  Nothing at this time.
16. Motion by Klitzke / Allen to adjourn the monthly Town Board Meeting at 8:09 pm.  Motion carried.
