Monday, March 11 2024
Monthly Town Board Meeting
at 7:00 pm at Town Hall
Present: Chad Allen, Rebecca Klitzke, Terri Connors, Kathy Schwartz,
Becky Meyer, Clark Thompson, J. Pohlman, J. Marten, N. Brey, D. Tourdot, J. Senzig.
- Call Meeting to order at 7:00 pm with Pledge of Allegiance. C. Allen called the meeting to order at 7pm with the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Certify Open Meetings Law has been met. B. Meyer certified the meeting has been posted on the Town hall door and on the website.
- Adopt Agenda – Motion by Klitzke / Connors to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.
- Approve minutes from previous meeting. Motion by Klitzke / Connors to approve the minutes.
- Anyone wishing to speak about a topic that is not on the agenda (No action can be taken) Max 3 minutes. J. Pohlman spoke about a few safety concerns on Fawn Valley Driver regarding the speed of the traffic, parking along side the road and having no sidewalk.
- Open Sealed Bids for Herritz Road LRIP Project. We received two sealed bids. Scott Construction submitted a bid for a total of $121,230.10. DL Gasser submitted a bid for a total of $138,019.76 with 1,630 tons of Hot Mix or $136,388.89 with a Warm Mix. Motion by Connors / Klitzke to accept the bid from Scott Construction. Motion Carried.
- Justin & Raeann Marten for a conditional use permit to operate an agriculture related business located at E6097A County Road CH, in part of the SW ¼, SW ¼, of Section 34, and SE ¼, SE ¼, of Section 33, T12N, R3E, Town of Reedsburg, Sauk County. Tax parcel identification number 030-1076-00000. Justin is starting a new business called Busted Knuckle to repair Agriculture equipment. Motion by Klitzke / Connors to recommend approval of the CUP. Motion Carried.
- Agricultural Roads Improvement Program (ARIP) project. Nick Brey stated the ARIP program is 90% funding, the application is very in depth and will need to be submitted by April 5th. Nick will get started
- Set Date for Annual Meeting (usually the Third Tuesday of April or within 10 days after) - Monday, April 22, 2024 @ 7pm. Consensus for the meeting to be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 @ 7pm.
- Set Date for Road Tour – Road Tour is set for April 5th @ 8am.
- Discussion on Town Patrolman current duties – Clark gave us list of his current duties. Discussion took place.
- Assessors Report by R. Meyer – Nothing to report
- Highway Report by C. Thompson –
- Picked up some Cutting Edges from Brooks Tractor for the John Deere grader.
- There was a seal leaking on the Ram, that was taken to Middelton to get fixed.
- Road Sign have been checked, there are about 20 signs that need to be replaced.
- A new building going up on Dunse Rd. at Kozlowski residence.
- Sand Pile is at about 300 ton.
- Issued a driveway permit to Ken & Donna Bradley off Grote Hill Rd.
- Building Inspector (GEC) report by R. Meyer.
- Benjamin Bannow @ S2958 Golf Course Rd for Siding Replacement
- Chairman / Supervisor Reports and comments
- Terri Connors – Town Association meeting was very informative and enjoyed it. Shared Revenue should be increasing annually. Appears as though there is some activity going on at the end of Enterprise drive.
- Rebecca Klitzke – Nothing to report
- Chad Allen – At the end of Grote Hill Rd. there is a business endeavor starting up in Exclusive Agriculture zoning. The County has been notified.
- Town Clerk presentation of monthly bills and comments by R. Meyer. Motion by Connors / Klitzke to pay the monthly bills. Motion Carried unanimously.
- Treasures Report and comments by K. Schwartz.
- Deposits - $197.44
- Review upcoming dates: Plan Commission / Town Board
- Town Board and Plan Commission: April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8
- Annual Meeting – April 22, 2024
- Elections – April 2, August 13 & November 5th
- Road Tour – April 5th
- Anything else reasonably related to the agenda. (No action can be taken at this meeting). Nothing else.
- Closed Session: Roll call vote to hold closed session for the town board to discuss current wages, benefits and job description of the town patrolman, Clark Thompson and the compensation and benefits to offer upon the hiring of a new town patrolman at the retirement of Clark Thompson pursuant Wis. Stat. § 19.85(1)(c). Motion by Klitzke / Connors to go into closed session 8:40pm. Roll Call vote to go into Closed Session. Allen – Yay, Connors – yay, Klitzke – Yay. Becky Meyer, Town Clerk was invited to join the closed session. Motion carried.
- Reconvene in open session. Motion by Klitzke / Connors to reconvene into open session at 10:04.
- Adjourn – Motion Klitzke / Connors @ 10:06.
