Town of Reedsburg Meeting Minutes

Monthly Town Board Meeting
at 7:00 pm at Town Hall

Present: Chad Allen, Rebecca Klitzke, Kathy Schwartz, Clark Thompson, Terri Connors, Becky Meyer

1.    Call Meeting to order at 7:00 pm with Pledge of Allegiance. C. Allen called the meeting to order at 7:00pm with the Pledge of Allegiance.

2.    Certify Open Meetings Law has been met in accordance with §985.02(2)(a).  Open Meetings Law has been met in accordance with §985.02(2)(a) by being placed on the Town Website and the Town Hall door.

3.    Adopt Agenda Motion by Klitzke / Connors to adopt the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.

4.    Approve minutes from previous meeting. Motion by Klitzke / Allen  to approve the Minutes from the July 2024 meeting.  Motion carried unanimously.

5.    Anyone wishing to speak about a topic that is not on the agenda (No action can be taken) Max 3 minutes. No one spoke

6.    Assessors Report by R. Meyer. Nothing to report

7.    Highway Report by C. Thompson

1.    Culvert that got washed out on Herritz Rd. Clark got quotes from Highway Commissioner, Pat Gavinski, for County to install and purchase will be approximately $24,000. 

2.    Davis is putting up a new shed on Hwy K.

3.    Herritz Rd is completed.  There are a few small potholes that were fixed with cold patch.

4.    2^nd mowing is completed. New Mower works good.

5.    N. Golf Course Road between N. Reedsburg Rd. and Hwy H has some issues.

6.    Ordered some Road Closed Signs.

7.    Fawn Valley Drive concerns with the ruts in the ditch.  Clark fixed the ruts and reseeded and put up a silt fence.

8.    Received a call about the garbage dumped on S. Dewey.  The person was found that dumped the items so the police were called and the person came and picked it up.

8.    Building Inspector (GEC) report by R. Meyer

1.    The Report has not been received yet

9.    Chairman / Supervisor Reports and comments

1.    Klitzke – Next Thursday, August 15 at the Knights of Columbus.

2.    Connors – Nothing to report

3.    Allen – Nothing to report

10. Town Clerk presentation of monthly bills and comments by R. Meyer. R. Meyer presented the monthly bills. Motion by Connors / Klitzke to pay the monthly bills.  Motion carried unanimously.

11. Treasures Report and comments by K. Schwartz

1.    $3,110.00 Monthly deposit

12. Review upcoming dates:  Plan Commission / Town Board / Election Dates

1.    Town Board – September 16, Oct. 14, Nov 11 & Dec 9

2.    Plan Commission for updating Comprehensive Plan – August 26, September 23

3.    Election – August 13 & Nov 5 with early voting on October 29 & 30 from 5:30-7pm

4.    Open Book – October 17 – 8am -4pm

5.    Board of Review – October 24 – 6pm – 8pm

13. Anything else reasonably related to the agenda. (No action can be taken at this meeting). Nothing

14. Closed Session: Roll call vote to hold closed session for the town board to review applications for hiring a new town patrolman pursuant Wis. Stat. §19.85(1)(c). Closed session by roll call vote @ 7:40 pm:  Motion by Klitzke / Connors.  Allen – Yay, Klitzke – Yay, Connors – Yay.  Motion carried.

15.  Motion by Klitzke / Allen to go back into open session @ 8:05pm.

16. Adjourn. Motion by Klitzke / Connors to adjourn at 8:06pm.  Motion carried unanimously.
