PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Town of Reedsburg Town Board will hold a public hearing on October 13th, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Reedsburg Town Hall to consider: 

  1. Resolution 10-13-25 to consider the adoption of the SAUK COUNTY HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN: 2025-2029 from Emergency Management.
  2. Ordinance 10-13-25 for the intent to destroy obsolete public records and Notice to State Historical Society
  3. Preliminary 2026 Budget Hearing

    Wis. Stat. §985.02(2)(a)  The governing body of a municipality may elect to post in at least one public place likely to give notice to persons affected and placed electronically on an Internet site maintained by the municipality

    Wis. Stat.§ 65.90(1)
    requires that every municipality must formulate an annual budget and hold public hearings on it before determining the sum to be financed by general property taxes or other revenues. This process involves submitting a proposed budget, typically by the mayor to the common council, and holding public hearings to allow for community input before the budget is formally adopted

    Wis. Stat.§ 19.85 (1) (c )
    allows a governmental body to hold a closed session to consider employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluations for a specific public employee under its jurisdiction

    Wis. Stat. § 19.21(4)(a) Any town board may provide by ordinance for the destruction of obsolete public records. Prior to the destruction at least 60 days’ notice in writing of such destruction shall be given the historical society which shall preserve any such records it determines to be of historical interest. The historical society may, upon application, waive such notice. No assessment roll containing forest crop acreage may be destroyed without prior approval of the secretary of revenue. 

    It is possible that a quorum of the Town of Reedsburg board members will be at various other meetings through the year to gather information about subjects they have decision-making responsibility. This governing body, known as the Town of Reedsburg Town Board, will not exercise any responsibilities, authority, or duties regarding formal actions during these various other meetings  The Town Board will only take formal actions on topics that are presented on the monthly Town Board meeting agenda unless a special town meeting is held for time sensitive decision making.  All decision making meetings and agenda notices will be posted on the Town Hall front door and the Town website within the legal timeframe alloted for such meetings. 

    NOTE:  Any person who has a qualifying disability that requires the meeting or materials at the meeting to be in an accessible location or format should contact Town of Reedsburg Clerk at (608)524-3999 at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting so that reasonable arrangements can be made to accommodate each reques.
