Monthly Town Board Meeting @ 7:00 PM
at Town Hall located at 600 W. Main Street Reedsburg

All Items on the agenda are listed for discussion and possible motion

Present:  Chad Allen, Rebecca Klitzke, Terri Connors, Kathy Schwartz(absent), Brandon Wilmot, Becky Meyer.
Also Present:  Neil Pfaff, Will Christensen,  

  1.  Call Regular Town Board Meeting to order at 7:00 pm with Pledge of Allegiance. Chair, C. Allen, Called the Meeting to order at 7:20 pm.
  2. Certify Open Meetings Law has been met in accordance with §985.02(2)(a). Clerk, R. Meyer, Certify Open Meetings Law has been met in accordance with §985.02(2)(a) with being placed on the Town Website and on the Town Hall Door.
  3. Adopt Agenda.  Motion by Klitzke / Connors to adopt the May 11, 2026, agenda. Motion carried unanimously.
  4. Approve minutes from previous meeting.  Motion by Klitzke / Connors to approve the minutes from the April 2026 meeting.  Motion carried unanimously.
  5. Anyone wishing to speak about a topic that is not on the agenda (No action can be taken) Max 3 minutes.  None
  6. Plan Commission Report – J. Barreau reported that the Plan Commission met prior to the Town Board meeting and recommended approval of the request for a rezone and continued operation of the Grede Landfill process with a 5 year renewal of the Conditional Use Permit.
  7. Neil Pfaff and Will Christensen regarding Grede Holdings, LLC request for a rezone on parcel 030-0820-00000 from exclusive Agriculture to Agriculture.  Also, a Conditional Use Permit request for the continued operation of the Grede Landfill on parcels 030-0808-20000, 030-0827-00000, and the expansion of landfill operations on parcels 030-0820-00000 and 030-0809-00000.  The Town Board was present for the Plan Commission.   Terri Connors recused herself from discussion and voting on this item due to personal business with the applicant.  Motion by Klitzke / Allen to recommend approval to the Sauk County Land Resources and Extension Committee regarding Grede Holdings, LLC request for a rezone on parcel 030-0820-00000 from exclusive Agriculture to Agriculture.  Also, a Conditional Use Permit request for the continued operation of the Grede Landfill on parcels 030-0808-20000, 030-0827-00000, and the expansion of landfill operations on parcels 030-0820-00000 and 030-0809-00000 with a 5 year renewal on the Conditional Use Permit.  Motion carried unanimously.
  8. Old Business
    1. Safe Deposit Box – This is not a State Statue that a Safe Deposit Box is required and can be canceled at time.  It is paid for through December 2026.  Consensus from the Board to discontinue the Safe Deposit Box at WCCU Bank. 
    2. Dog License Fees (can be increased by adopting a resolution Wis. Stat. s. 174.05). Consensus to leave the dog fees as they are currently.
    3. Create a fee schedule resolution. Consensus requested that we present the fee schedule next month on June 8.   
    4. Postage increase to .82 cents effective July 12, 2026 – This is just a notice that postage for tax bills will be increasing.
    5. WTA / TAC Dues – The 2026 invoice has not been received yet so this will be moved to next month.
  9. New Business
    1. Bridge Aide – Highway Department sent the Annual Petitions for 2027 Budget Requests that needs to be filled out and signed by the Town Board.
    2. LRIP – Chair, C. Allen, reported that Nick Brey published the appropriate LRIP Bid Requests for Golf Course Road.  The Town of Reedsburg Will be getting $23,293.81 in LRIP Aid.
  10. Highway Report - Brandon Wilmot

a.    Road Report – Nihles farm tires fixed the tractor for $1,000.  Shouldering and patching on various roads.

b.    Driveway Permits – Douglas Harder @ E6973 Hwy 154 for a driveway on Mile Rd.

c.    Other comments – The lights are installed on the outside of the building.  A hidden driveway sign was put up on Sand Hill Rd. The Z530M mower from Mid-State Equipment was delivered. The old mower was taken to Gavin Auctions for the consignment auction.  The sand pile is covered there is about 25 yards.  Attended Road School at Chula Vista on the April 27 – April 29.

11.   Chairman / Supervisor Reports and comments
a.      Supervisor II - Terri Connors – Sauk County Unit Meeting on Thursday, May 21 at White Mound hosted by Town of Bear Creek.
b.      Supervisor I - Rebecca Klitzke – Animals at large on Hackbarth Rd. at Leisters and he was issued a fine for April 28 and May 5.

       c.       Chair – Chad Allen – Evan Steinhorst called about the cattle out on Hackbarth Rd., Fence on Ski Hill Rd. at the previous Pace Mansion were started to install but the City stopped him and he moved them back.  Brett Grinder had a building that is too close to the property line that he will be applying for a variance. 

  12. Town Clerk - Becky Meyer

a.       Assessor (Holloway Appraisal) Report – None

b.       Building Inspector (GEC) Report. –

·       Kurt Wagner @ E6395 Ski Hill Rd for a Horse Arena

·       Todd & Angela Klitzke @ E5968 County Rd S for a new Single Family Residence.

c.       Monthly Vouchers - AP QuickBooks reports were emailed. Motion by Connors /   Klitzke to pay the monthly vouchers. Motion carried unanimously. 

d.       Other comments – Nothing

 13.  Treasures Report - Kathy Schwartz-reported by Becky Meyer

a.         Deposits – $325.00 ($200 – Hall Rent, $20 – Special Assessment Letter, $55 – Building permits, $50 driveway permit)

b.         ACH Deposits - $213.33 for Act 12 Personal Property, $277.32 for Personal Property,

c.         Review Calendar Dates –

                                 i.          Plan Commission - June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14

                               ii.           Town Board - June 8. July 13, August 10, September 14

                              iii.          Hall Rentals and DOT & 4H Club.

                              iv.          Elections: August 11 & November 3

15.  Adjourn.  Motion by Klitzke / Connors to adjourn the May 2026 monthly meeting at 8:03 pm.
