2026 LRIP PROJECT
REQUEST FOR BID

The Town of Reedsburg proposes a pavement improvement project of approximately 1.0 mile of South Golf Course Road from the railroad at grade crossing (North of the Ski Hill Road Intersection) to Junction Road in the Town of Reedsburg, Sauk County, WI.  This proposed improvement is a WisDOT Local Roads Improvement Program (LRIP) project. 

  1. -          The existing roadway consists of an approximately 21-ft wide, 2-inch thick asphaltic material over unknown base course thickness.
  2. -          Proposed roadway will be 21-ft wide asphaltic surface with 2-ft base aggregate shoulders. 

Sealed bids will be received by the Town of Reedsburg until 7:00 p.m. on July 13, 2026 for the following:

1.       Replace five existing corrugated steel culverts and steel apron endwalls under the roadway in accordance with Section 521 of the WisDOT Standard Specifications.  Contractor is responsible for verifying existing diameter and length of culverts and replacing in kind.

2.       Pulverize and Relay existing roadway corridor 21-ft wide in accordance with Section 325 of the WisDOT Standard Specifications to prepare the roadbed for 21-ft asphaltic surface and 2-ft base aggregate shoulders.

3.       The Town of Reedsburg will provide virgin base aggregate to be added to the pulverized roadway prior to finish grading and paving.  Contractor will be responsible for fine grading of the virgin base aggregate.

4.       Provide, deliver, and place Asphaltic Surface 21-ft wide by 2-inch finished thickness in accordance with Section 465 of the WisDOT Standard Specifications, except furnish asphaltic mixture type MT under WisDOT Standard Specifications 460.2.

5.       The Town of Reedsburg will be constructing the 2-ft base aggregate shoulders once the asphaltic surface has been placed.

6.       All work shall be completed and accepted by the Township by October 1, 2026.

Mail sealed bids to:  Town of Reedsburg, S3886 Grote Hill Rd, Reedsburg, WI 53959 attn: South Golf Course Rd Bid. Bids received shall be considered at the July 13, 2026 Town Board Meeting to be held at 7:00 p.m. located at 600 West Main Street, Reedsburg, WI. The Town Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or portions thereof, to accept any or all bids or portions thereof, and to waive any technicalities in any bid deemed most advantageous to the Town of Reedsburg.

    Wis. Stat. §985.02(2)(a)  The governing body of a municipality may elect to post in at least one public place likely to give notice to persons affected and placed electronically on an Internet site maintained by the municipality

    It is possible that a quorum of the Town of Reedsburg board members will be at various other meetings through the year to gather information about subjects they have decision-making responsibility. This governing body, known as the Town of Reedsburg Town Board, will not exercise any responsibilities, authority, or duties regarding formal actions during these various other meetings  The Town Board will only take formal actions on topics that are presented on the monthly Town Board meeting agenda unless a special town meeting is held for time sensitive decision making.  All decision making meetings and agenda notices will be posted on the Town Hall front door and the Town website within the legal timeframe alloted for such meetings. 

    NOTE:  Any person who has a qualifying disability that requires the meeting or materials at the meeting to be in an accessible location or format should contact Town of Reedsburg Clerk at (608)524-3999 at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting so that reasonable arrangements can be made.
