Preliminary Budget Hearing and Town Board Monthly Meeting

 

        PRESENT:  Chairperson-Carl Mundth, Supervisor I-Ervin Borleske, Supervisor II-Paul         Grosskrueger, Clerk-Rebecca Meyer, Treasurer-Linda Borleske

        ALSO, PRESENT:  Clark Thompson, Terri Connors, Rebecca Klitzke

 

  • Town Board Monthly Meeting Called to order at 7:30 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance
  • Clerk Meyer certified that the meeting met the criteria of open meetings law by being published in the Reedsburg Indy, on the town website and on the door of the town hall.
  • Agenda was reviewed. Motion made by Supervisor Grosskrueger, seconded by Chairperson Mundth to adopt agenda.  Motion carried.
  • The Minutes were read from the September meeting. Motion by Supervisor Borleske, seconded by Supervisor Grosskrueger, to approve minutes with minor changes. Motion carried.
  • Anyone wishing to speak about a topic that is not on the agenda.  No one spoke.
  • Regular Town Board meeting recessed at 7:42pm
  • Preliminary Budget Hearing called to order at 7:42 pm
  • Presentation and discussion of the Town of Reedsburg 2021 Budget
  • Preliminary budget Hearing adjourned at 8:19 pm.
  • Regular Town Board Meeting reconvened at 8:19 pm.
  • Plan Commission Chairperson Linda Borleske gave an update on Plan Commission meeting.  There was not a Plan Commission meeting in September. The next meeting will be November 16th for a public hearing for a wedding barn.  
  • Routes to Recovery Grant update. Rural Fire wages can be claimed by transferring remaining funds to the City of Reedsburg.  Approx. $2,500 was applied for in round 3 to cover new computer and printer.  Motion by Supervisor Grosskrueger, seconded by Supervisor Borleske, to transfer R2R funds to the City of Reedsburg for Claiming purposes to reimburse Rural Fire Dept for wages paid from March 1 – Oct 31 to which in return the Town of Reedsburg will receive a matching credit on 2021 Assessment. Motion Carried.
  • Discussion on proposals for services on a new town hall floor project.  Ervin will look into different samples and will let Carl know if we need to have a special meeting to get this project completed by the end of 2020.
  • Assessor report – Noting to report.
  • Highway report given by Clark Thompson.

v Garage doors are installed and they did a little adjustment to the door installed last year to put a stop in place. Building Inspector Report: Building permits issued by GEC – report given by Clerk Meyer

v Dale Culp @ S4476 Sand Hill Rd for an Ag Building

P. Grosskrueger - Supervisor II

Received invoice from Craig Douglas to report to Focus on Energy.  Will have to double check to see if there is enough information to apply and receive funds from Focus on Energy.

E. Borleske – Supervisor I

Culvert has damage by Pace residence.

C. Mundth - Chairperson

Talked to someone at the sheriff department about extra reinforcements on weight limits on Herritz Rd., Old Loganville Rd., Golf Course Rd., South Dewey.

Updated on Windows – expect another month

Garbage on Old Ironton Rd – mattresses, box springs and dressers. Pile is growing.

·                     Clerk Meyer presented Monthly Bills to be paid. Motion made by Supervisor Borleske seconded by Supervisor Grosskrueger to pay the bills as presented. Motion carried.

Renewal Questionnaire was received from Lichte Insurance, Carl will fill it out and return to Lichte Insurance.  Terri Connors inquired about getting other bids for insurance coverage.

·                     Treasurer Report: Given by Treasurer Borleske

Deposit - $26,739.90 – General Transportation Aids

Deposit - $23,250.00 – TRIP – Old Loganville Rd Project

Deposit - $348.14 – ($50 – Hall rent, $76.29 – private sales, $72.75 – scrap metal, $144.10 – Holloway Appraisal for Larry Mundth refund, $5 – Building permit)

Plan Commission:  November 16 @ 7:30 pm.

Town Board meetings: Nov. 9, Dec. 14 & Jan. 11 @7:30 pm

Private Election Equipment Testing - October 15 @ 5 pm

Public Election Equip testing: October 24 @ 11 am

EARLY VOTING DATES: Sat. October 24 from 10am - 2pm, Tues., Oct 27, Wed., Oct. 28 and Thurs., Oct 29 from 5pm - 7pm

Election Dates: November 3 from 7 am - 8 pm

Hall Rent is limited to 15 people so two rentals have been cancelled.

Received a couple calls regarding an angry garbage man.

Tax time is approaching. Will continue to do as in the past with sending out the taxes to include dog tax and garbage pickup dates.

·                     Anything else reasonably related to the agenda.  Clerk Meyer reported that the Town bought a new Computer, Printer and software for the clerk.  This has been reported to Routes to Recovery Grant Program.

·                     Motion by Supervisor Grosskrueger, second by Chairperson Mundth to adjourn the monthly Town Board Meeting at 9:40 pm.  Motion carried.
